Richard Foreman is playwright who has written, directed, and designed over fifty plays both in New York City and abroad since the early 1970s. In 1968 he founded the Ontological-Hysteric Theater, which presents work that focuses on interpersonal relationships in space without a specific narrative through-line. Well known for pieces that unite all elements of theater—literature, sound, staging, set, and media—Foreman creates works that deliberately unsettle viewers in an effort to open alternative modes of understanding. Foreman has performed at The Kitchen throughout his career, and in 1983 he presented a movie titled Sophia = (Wisdom) Part 3 The Cliffs, which featured Bob Fleischner, Anders Noren, Kate Manheim, J. Hoberman, and Linda Patton among others. For more information please visit: http://www.ontological.com/FOREMAN/richardforeman.html
