Lester Bowie was an American jazz trumpet player and composer. He was a member of The Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), and he co-founded the Art Ensemble of Chicago. He was involved in The Kitchen's New Ice Nights, a two night event of performances in celebration of The Kitchen's move to its new space on West 19th Street. Bowie died in 1999 at the age of 58.
