Lynda Benglis
Lynda Benglis is a visual artist widely recognized for her unusual materials and techniques that call attention to the body and the role of women in art and pop culture. These themes are seen in her poured latex and foam works or in her sculpted bronze or aluminum ones. Benglis has also produced provocative advertisements in magazines like Artforum. The artist has also created many video works, like Document (1972), which was screened at The Kitchen in the 1988 series Extant Work. One of Benglis’ other video works made in collaboration with Stanton Kaye was The Amazing Bow-Wow, which was shown at The Kitchen in 1976.
