On April 30–May 1, 1981, Polysexuality, two days of live acts and film screenings by Kathy Acker, Richard Foreman, Kenneth King, Sylvere Lotringer, among others, took place at The Kitchen. The two nights were organized by Semiotext(e) to celebrate the publication of their tenth issue of Polysexuality. According to the press release, the event included "hard-core theory and performance featuring erogenous films, polydrag cabaret acts, one-night-stand polyritual orchestra, polysterical ontolong-distance theatre, exploding sex show, and other masomorphous and poly-perverse speech acts."
