Herb Dordick (1925 - 1998) was an American academic specializing in the relationship between technology and society, with a particular emphasis on communication and social networks after the advent of the telephone. Dordick wrote numerous papers, articles, and books, including The Information Society: A Retrospective View which he co-authored with Georgette Wang in 1993. At the The Kitchen's 1980 panel series “Television, Society, and Art,” Dordick participated in the discussion on television as artistic medium.
