In the 1980s, Adrienne Altenhaus co-founded a dance company with Betsy Hulton, an endeavor that she left behind when she moved to Europe in the 1990s. During her time in New York, Altenhaus participated in The Kitchen's 1984 performance series Almost Dance and at The Kitchen’s New Ice Nights.. Altenhaus continues to perform with the Netherlandish performance group Vloeistof.
