Alvin Lucier is an American composer and long time professor at Wesleyan University. His work explores auditory perception and acoustic phenomenon through sound installations and experimental music. Lucier was a member of the influential Sonic Arts Union, which also included Gordon Mumma, Robert Ashley and David Behrman.
