Steve Roden is a visual and sound artist who translates specific notations into scores through an invented system. The scores—which affect the subsequent creation of paintings, drawings, and sculptures—are a combination of strict parameters and spaces for intuitive decisions. In his practice Roden transforms recordings of objects, architectural spaces, and fields into engaging landscapes of sound. His work appeared in The Kitchen group exhibition Between Thought and Sound in 2007. For more information, please visit http://www.inbetweennoise.com/.
