Jeanne Lee

Jeanne Lee was an American jazz singer, composer and poet born in New York City in 1939. Known for her ability to master a wide range of vocal styles, Lee became involved in sound poetry, Happenings and Fluxus events in the mid-1960s and collaborated with notable composers and performers such as Gunter Hampel, Ran Blake, Carla Bley, Anthony Braxton and Marion Brown. Lee performed at The Kitchen in 1979 as part of New Music, New York.
