Michael J. Schumacher is an experimental composer who is interested in the relationships created within sound. He recognizes technical relations between tones and rhythms; between the inside space of the installation and the outside world; and between the sound and the memories evoked in the minds of the listeners. By varying the types of sound, he aims to expand the possibilities of creating connections. Throughout his career, he collaborated with La Monte Young, Charles Curtis, and Donald Miller among others. Schumacher’s work appeared in The Kitchen group exhibition Between Thought and Sound in 2007. For more information, please visit http://michaeljschumacher.com/.
