Jacob Kassay

Jacob Kassay is an artist based in Los Angeles, California. His work takes on a formal approach to the placement and objectivity of paintings, through analytical comparison between the way objects are made and their purely visual aspects. Kassay’s work is particularly conceived as a response to its presentation in space. His exhibition "Untitled (disambiguation)" showed at The Kitchen in 2013, engaging with the specific spatial properties of The Kitchen gallery and building. Kassay was also part of the group exhibition, "Besides, With, Against, and Yet: Abstraction and the Ready-Made Gesture", at The Kitchen in 2009.
