Cheyney Thompson is a New York-based, multi-media artist. Thompson’s paintings, photographs, sculptures, and installations investigate the contemporary landscape of invention and distribution. Technology and science play a part in the creation of his paintings, as he uses various algorithms and methods derived from research to reconsider the relationship between artist and artwork. Thompson has been featured in two group exhibitions at The Kitchen: "Besides, With, Against, and Yet: Abstraction and the Ready-Made Gesture" in 2009, and "From Minimalism into Algorithm" in 2016.
