Cheryl Donegan is a conceptual artist living and working in New York City. She is known for her video works that target the clichés of the female body in art and other issues of art politics. Donegan’s paintings, which put a subversive spin on these issues, often lead the video work as she derives abstraction from debased images of consumer objects and spaces. In 2009, Donegan was in a group exhibition entitled "Besides, With, Against, and Yet: Abstraction and the Ready-Made Gesture", at The Kitchen.
