John Deak is a double bassist and composer. Deak is the former associate principal bassist of the New York Philharmonic, a position he held from 1973-2009 after joining the Philharmonic in 1969. His compositions have been performed at music festivals and by orchestras worldwide. Deak performed at The Kitchen as part of New Music New York in 1979.
