Rosalind Krauss (1941 - ) is an art critic known for her functional analytic approach and her applications of linguistic and psychoanalytic theories to art. Since 1965, Krauss has been a regular contributor to publications such as Artforum, Art International, and Art in America. Krauss was associate editor of Artforum from 1971 until 1976 at which time she left the magazine to found October alongside art critic Annette Michelson. Krauss was a panelist at The Kitchen's 1980 symposium on “Television, Society, and Art,” speaking on television as a means of artistic production and its use in relation to media that are not traditionally reproducible in form. She most recently spoke at The Kitchen in 2014 upon the release of the publication Retracing the Expanded Field.
