London-based artist Helen Marten works variously in sculpture, film, and installation. She fills spaces with objects that culminate in a diffuse visual field, whose diverse arrangements encourage the viewer to examine each item or assemblage. Though some of Marten’s objects may appear to be readymade, each one is constructed with careful attention to material, color, and form in order to invoke a wide range of cultural referents. Marten has also worked with CGI technology to create films projected at a large scale, signaling a concern for overlaps and blurs between virtual and real space. Marten’s work was included in The Kitchen’s 2016 group show “From Minimalism into Algorithm.” For more information, please see: http://www.t293.it/artists/helen-marten/
