Michael Owen is a video artist who worked closely with artist, Carole Ann Klonarides, under the name MICA-TV to create video portraits of artists during the 1980s including Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, and Richard Prince. He went to work as an independent film and video producer who has collaborated on projects with Laurie Anderson, David Byrne, Jim Jarmusch, and Sam Peckinpah among others. In 1983 Owen and Klonarides created the work R.M. Fischer: An Industrial, which was an ironic study of R.M. Fisher’s lamp sculptures. This video was shown at The Kitchen in the Extant Work series in 1988.
