Frederic Rzewski

Frederic Rzewski is an American composer and pianist. His music often involves a collective and collaborative process that feature improvisation and live electronic instruments, such as the keyboard. His music is inspired by socio-political themes and events. In 1966 he cofounded the electronic music ensemble Musica Elettronica Viva with Alvin Curran and Richard Teitelbaum. He first performed at the Kitchen in 1972 and has performed several times since then throughout his long career.
