Aki Takahashi is a Japanese pianist specializing in contemporary classical music. She began studying piano at the age of five, going on to receive her MA degree from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Throughout her career, she has released many recordings and several 20th century composers have written pieces for her. She performed at The Kitchen as part of Frederic Rzewski’s Coming Together: Celebrating 25 Years of Piano Music in 1998, performing The Turtle and the Crane.
