Heidi Hahn is a painter based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work is deeply engaged with the history of the painting medium and its underlying gendered currents. She often depicts female imagery and employs traditional tropes like the reclining nude, rebuffing their voyeuristic pleasure by drawing viewers into the psychological intensity of her paintings. Hahn’s work was shown at The Kitchen in the installation accompanying the two-week open work period Half Straddle: Here I Go, pt. 2 of You, during where she also gave a lecture entitled “The Body is Not Essential.” For more information please visit: http://www.heidihahnart.com/about/
