Gardar Eide Einarsson is a multimedia artist who researches modalities of social transgression, through the study of subcultures and political subversions. Rather than celebrating freedom, his work reveals the limitation of invasive actions and the broken relationship between communities and outsiders. Einarsson incorporates and appropriates imageries and information to transform them into visible elements of critique of the macho American culture. Common elements in his art are graffiti, references to gangs, skateboarders, the police, and flags with mottos. His work appeared in The Kitchen group exhibition JUST KICK IT TILL IT BREAKS in 2007.
