Anthony Jay Ptak is a contemporary artist and composer. He studied with Tony Conrad, Paul Sharits, Lydia Kavina, Peter Campus, and Herbert Brün. His scores attempt to free the composer from the constraints of the conventional scale, dismissing all systems and limitative parameters. Ptak is also a founding member of the New York Theremin Society. His graphic notations work appeared in The Kitchen group exhibition Between Thought and Sound in 2007.
