Instant Girl was a dance group made up of Janet Bogardus, Joanna Heimbold, and Susan Trout. The three women, all originally from Connecticut, moved to New York in 1991 and formed the group which was known for its playful skits and gags full of dancing, singing, and clowning. Many of their most popular works called back to adolescence and rites and rituals of young girls.
