Frieda was a larger-than-life plastic doll and character performed by artist and designer Barbara Lipp. She performed in the 1970s in The Mudd Club, The Pyramid Club, and Danceteria to name a few. She collaborated with artists like Anita Sarko and Haoui Montaug in addition to performing on Late Night with David Letterman in 1985.
