Remote Viewing

Cauleen Smith had her New York solo debut at The Kitchen with her video installation Remote Viewing. The videos works all attempted to put sit specific land art of the seventies within a historical framework. The staged land art took place in California during the 2008 financial crisis, specifically on construction sites that had to be stalled. The sites have a memorial or burial function imbued with a sense of loss, displacement and absence. This exhibition was curated by Rashida Bumbray.
