Suzie Silver
Suzie Silver is an American artist who primarily creates video and performance art exploring queer themes. Silver’s well known early videos, Freebird and A Spy, emerged from her experiences in the performance art scene of Chicago in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Her later work utilizes images, music, recorded performances, and animation sequences in a digital collage. Silver founded the Institute of Extraterrestrial Sexuality in 2009, which authored the book/DVD project Strange Attractors: Investigations in Non-Humanoid Extraterrestrial Sexualities (Encyclopedia Destructica 2012). Silver was the editor of the project. In 1993, Untitled, a collaboration with Steve Lafreniere was screened at The Kitchen as part of SPEW/New York.
