Jamie Isenstein is a New York based artist whose work investigates endurance within performance art. Although her work is derived from her own body, she also incorporates props, sculpture, drawing, and painting. In many of her performances, Isenstein forces her body to perform unnatural and unusual tasks, often taking on the qualities of inanimate objects. Her work was shown at The Kitchen in 2009 in a group exhibition called One Minute More that considered approaches to presenting and documenting durational action and performance, and the labor implicit in that.
