His Master's Voice

Whiz Kid, Photo: Teri Bloom

Celebrating the importance the phonograph has had on music of the Twentieth century, His Master’s Voice was an experimental group performance featuring Afrika Islam, Bill Bahlman, Christian Marclay, DJ Spy, Roger Trilling, Stuart Sherman, UNS, Wanda D & Debbie D, and Whiz Kid. The nine performers drew inspiration from a wide range of sources including rock music by the Velvet Underground and disco records by Donna Summer, using several turntables in an evening devoted to the art of the record player.
