Wanda D & Debbie D

DJ Wanda D and MC Debbie D were an early hip-hop duo and two of the earliest female figures in hip-hop. They would refer to themselves as a mobile DJ/MC team, a reference to their traveling from "Upstate to Downtown", and vice versa, to perform. In 1982, Wanda D and Debbie D performed at The Kitchen's two-night 'His Master's Voice' event.
