Afrika Islam is a legendary Bronx DJ and record producer recognized as the protege to Afrika Bambaataa ("Son Of Bambaataa"). He is a founder of the Zulu Nation (in Harlem), a founding member of the Soul Sonic Force, and produced hip-hop's first radio program -- Zulu Beats (WHBI Newark). In 1982, Islam performed at The Kitchen's two-night 'His Master's Voice' event.
