In the 1980's Roger Trilling worked as a manager and occasional producer for bands such as Material, James Blood Ulmer, and the early DIY incarnation of Scritti Politti. As a DJ, he was known for his confounding and surrealistic sets which consisted of "slowed-down/sped-up/randomly-interspersed Third World-post-pop-New Music sounds." In 1982, Roger Trilling performed at The Kitchen's two-night 'His Master's Voice' event.
