The Otolith Group, known in the UK as The Otolith Collective, is a London-based collaborative entity founded by Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun in 2002. Their work is research-based and investigates the moving image, archives, and sound, as well as events and their historical conditions. Their performances are driven by their exploration of the histories of science fiction and the effects and legacy of transnationalism. They have focused on the essay film in particular as a means to consider historical events and conditions in their most expanded form. Their film screenings as part of The Kitchen’s 2008 exhibition, The Future As Disruption, applied their work and methodology to the genre of science fiction.
