On October 17 and 18, 2008, the duo Anatomy (Marc Cary and Samita Sinha) performed a night of music curated by Rashida Bumbray. In Anatomy, composer and jazz pianist Cary's influences ranging from traditional West African and Native American musical forms to jazz and hip-hop blend with composer and vocalist Samita Sinha's classical Hindustani vocal training. They performed their collaboration Mutations, a piece built on their multifaceted backgrounds to create a new work of acoustic and electronic music. Musician Sunny Jain accompanied the duo on percussion and drums, and also performed an opening set with his band Red Baraat, an Indian marching band like those traditionally used in Indian marriage processionals.
