In April 1983, composer Anthony Davis presented two programs featuring new works performed by his sextet Episteme. One of the new works, Stillwater 6, was commissioned jointly by The Kitchen, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and the Walker Art Center.  This series of two concerts was Episteme's second time performing at The Kitchen.
