In 1988, The Kitchen presented the premiere of two videos by Michel Auder: Chasing the Dragon and Untitled (Made for R.L.). Chasing the Dragon is an autobiographical work that included appearances by Eric Bogosian, Geraldine Smith, Michael Zack, Alice Neel, Nancy Dwyer, and Alexandra Auder. Begun in 1971, its long-term development through nearly constant filming is emblematic of Auder's work.
