Sarah Skaggs is a dancer and choreographer from New York City, who has been choreographing since 1983. Her work focuses on the relationship between the body and spirituality as impacted by social and political crises. Recently, she completed a multi-year cycle of choreographic works dealing with the body and disaster, particularly with respect to September 11th, which marked the fall of the world trade center towers and the deaths of numerous civilians. She participated as one of the six choreographers in Footnotes: Six Choreographers Inscribe the Page, which was both a performance and literary event that took place at The Kitchen in the fall of 1998.
