robbinschilds

robbinschilds was formed in 2003 by choreographers Sonya Robbins and Layla Childs. Though trained in dance, the group often works outside of the discipline by engaging in site-specific and installation-based multimedia performance. In addition to performance and presentation at The Kitchen, robbinschilds work has been shown at PS 122, The New Museum, Movement Research, DanceSpace Project, and MoMA PS1 as well as in festivals, galleries, and museums nationally and internationally. Receiving an Art Matters travel grant in 2010, the pair moved to Iceland to work before returning and receiving the MAP Fund production grant for their 2012 project “I came here on my own.”
