David Appel is a choreographer, performer, and teacher who investigates the role that dance plays in daily life, as well as in our relationship with the world. His performance style traces the language of movement and the patterns of association between the performer and the subjects of his choreographies. Throughout his career, Appel has collaborated with a variety of artists and companies, including Simone Forti, Ausdruckstanz Dance Theater, Tumbleweed, and Mimi Fortunae Dance Theatre.
