Christine Martin, best known by her actor alias, Chris Teen, the radical hooker dyke Wednesday Friday in Bruce LaBruce’s 8 ½ (1994), is a Canadian actor and videomaker. She studied theatre at Concordia University in Montreal, and participated in the queer art and politics scene of Montreal and Toronto before moving to New York in the 1990s. Laws and Skin (1990) and Pleasure Police (1990) Martin’s best known works, both explore sexual identity, public body performance, and the relationship between queer identity and the law. In 1993, Martin curated and presented a film, co-directed by Glenn Belverio, at The Kitchen as part of SPEW/New York.
