Anthony de Mare
Anthony de Mare is a pianist and composer, specializing in the speaking-singing pianist genre. He is notable for his concert project of thirty-six pieces, Liaisons: Re-Imagining Sondheim from the Piano, in which he is a creator, performer, and co-producer. Currently, he is a Professor of Piano at NYU/Steinhardt and Manhattan School of Music. de Mare has worked with Frederic Rzewski, premiering his piece, De Profundis, at The Kitchen’s Coming Together: Celebrating 25 Years of Piano Music in 1998.
