In Aleatoire Je Ne Sais Quoi (French for “A Certain Random Quality”), also known as An illustrated non-lecture on the phenomenology of my avant-garde aesthetics, Ralston Farina presented eleven “magic acts.” In the attempt to convey his definition of “time time”—namely the difference between the experience of the performance and the audience’s recollection of the experience—Farina presented live pieces often accompanied by drawings made during the performance, which were supposed to render time material.
