S&D

Web Atlas

In this three-part performance, Charles Atlas worked with performer John Kelly, choreographer Diane Martel, and composer David Linton. Atlas designed elements for the entire piece, whereas each one of the other artists composed a section of the performance. The first part is based on the work of John Kelly and features music-theater elements in the dance of Merce Cunningham and Michael Clark; the second part introduces new work by choreographer, composer, and director Diane Martel; and the third part presents a percussive trio in which composer David Linton plays with two drummers. S&D was destined to be adapted to television.
