Lucinda Childs performed a series of solo works at The Kitchen in 1978 including Plaza, Katema, and a work-in-progress with Philip Glass. This third piece was an early solo version of what later became Dance, Childs’s celebrated work with Sol LeWitt and Philip Glass.
