Peter Nagy (1959- ) is an artist and gallerist based in New Delhi, India. Nagy began his art career in New York after graduating from the Parsons School of Design in 1981. In 1982, Nagy and Alan Becher co-founded the gallery Nature Morte in the East Village. Although this location closed in 1988, Nagy later revived the project in New Delhi, where he continues to represent contemporary Indian artists to this day. Although much of his career has been oriented towards supporting and representing fellow artists, Nagy has his own portfolio which includes Xerox facsimiles of collaged source material and drawings responding to the novel environment of urban India. In The Kitchen's 1985 group show An Anticipated Ruin, Nagy exhibited Xerox works alongside artists such as Sherrie Levine, Louise Lawler, and Steven Parrino, all of whom were also shown at Nature Morte in the 1980s.
