Michael Portnoy
Michael Portnoy is a New York based multidisciplinary artist with a background in dance and stand-up comedy. In recent years, Portnoy has employed a performance-based practice that incorporates a variety of media, including sculpture, participatory installation, curation, painting, writing, theater, and video. Michael has presented performances most notably at dOCUMENTA (13), Performa Biennial 07 & 09, Centre Pompidou, SculptureCenter, Kunsthalle Basel and MOMA PS1. He has presented two works at The Kitchen, The K Sound in 2006 and 27 Gnosis, which premiered first at dOCUMENTA (13) in 2012 and was re-staged for The Kitchen in 2013.
