Donna Uchizono
Donna Uchizono is a contemporary dance choreographer of international acclaim, who has been creating work for over twenty years. Uchizono collaborates with composers, videographers, and visual artists; using evocative soundscapes and sets in conjunction with movement that is known for its wit, rapidity, and innovation. Uchizono has worked with the Kitchen on many occasions, premiering such critically-acclaimed works as San Andreas (1990) and a Sage Passage (1993), as well as being featured in several Dance and Process performances. In 2010 she performed Longing Two, an evening-length work that traveled from the Baryshnikov Arts Center to the Kitchen in order to explore proximity, perception, destination, and arrival.
