Lady's Glove

Laetitia Sonami performed with her instrument, the Lady’s Glove, at The Kitchen in 1997. Created a few years earlier, Sonami’s glove was embedded with sensors that tracked finger and hand motions. Based off of her gestures, the sensors manipulated sound and voice. The glove was worn on the left hand, which allowed her right hand to manipulate the mixing board. Sonami’s electronic music performance displayed her interest in new sound and electronic practices.
