Michael Auder's piece Jesus premiered at the Kitchen in 1980. This work mixes footage from evangelical TV programs, books, paintings, and other Jesus related imagery with performancse by Taylor Mead as a priest in the West Village and Florence Lambert playing a crucified Jesus.  Interviews with Auder’s friends, family, and people he approached on New York City streets about faith and their relationships to Jesus are interspersed throughout.
