Cory Arcangel is a New York based post-conceptual artist most well known for his work that incorporates technology, hardware, software, and computer coding. Arcangel’s works approach many different forms of media, such as drawing, music, video, performance art and digital media. His projects consider the duality of technological evolution between digital technology and pop culture. His artistic strategy of appropriation takes into account collective memories, celebrating antiquated aesthetics while interrogating their cultural relevance. Reusing existing materials, kitsch graphics and images Arcangel incorporates them into a dialogue with art history, literature and music. Arcangel has had solo exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Museum, and Migros Museum among others .
