From February 16–18, 1984, The Kitchen presented I Saw Seven Angels, a collaboration between visual artist Michael Zwack, actor/director Eric Bogosian, and composer Glenn Branca. Zwack provided a slide-projected backdrop against which Bogosian and supporting actors performed, accompanied by an original tape music soundtrack of Branca’s devising. Within the performance actors delivered an oral collage of various mystical, romantic, and sometimes depraved texts derived from a diverse array of sources, including the Bible, John Milton, Shakespeare, Hans Christian Andersen, Marquis de Sade, and Adolf Hitler.
